"Smart Libraries" is the brand name of a proposed franchise of libraries within the slums of Africa that nurture and teach basic literacy. Each Smart Library will have a personalized, or a customized, local name. The initial Prototype Smart Library, will be locally named "Shirin's Library", and will be built within the Kibera slums of Kenya. Smart Libraries will then be replicated in slums throughout the African continent, utilizing a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that serves slum communities in Africa living on less than one dollar a day.
